Also in the game is an extensive loot system, with enemies dropping gold, bullets and artefacts that give you buffs based on an element, or in other words certain artefacts will add fire damage while others add ice or toxic damage. For example an item you need to pick up will be somewhere else in the level the second time you play. The levels themselves also have a small degree of randomization, as in certain parts of the level will switch around the next time you play them. When the jokes don't stick, the voice acting tends to come off as awkward. The voice acting is generally good but is constrained within a confines of a script that relies a bit too much on the jokes. Almost all the guns just sound kind of wimpy, with no gun in particular sounding like a really powerful weapon of mass of destruction. While the environmental sounds themselves are really well done, the gun sounds are a let-down. The sound design is a bit of a mixed bag. It's all in here! The problem is that the Jokes tend to miss as often as they hit and when that happens, you will wish everyone would just shut up and let you get back to the action. The setting and the characters are also deliberately and completely over the top with Ninja prophecies, an American car mechanic turned Ninja master, a demon named Larry who sells guns and whatnot. When it does stick, it provides a hilarious mixture of college humour with jokes so low brow that you will have a hard time believing that they went there.
